Jasper Loco & Kid Frost

We got a picture in from UKMG Artist Jasper Loco at the Eazy E Tribute event this past weekend in Downey, California. Mexicans always show love to Eazy E not as the godfather of gangster rap, but because he gave Mexicans a chance in hip hop. Many people dont know, but Eazy E signed Brownside, Kid Frost, and was signing Hollow Point (Knightowl and Lil One). Kid Frost released “Smile Now Die Later” through Ruthless Records, and had the classics “Eastside Rendezvous”, “La Familia”, “You Aint Right” just to name a few. Jasper went to the show to show love and represent Charlie Row Campo and took this dope picture right in front of Frost, while he was performing.

Be About It – First Look From Old English Brand

Our friends at Old English Brand is getting ready to release their latest design, that came out really dope. Its called the OE “Be About It” Tee. This tee was created with the concept of one simple rule. Don’t say what you’ll do, and never do it. Don’t be one of those people. Be a stand up individual who is real about what they say and backs up what is said. Be true to yourself and what type of person you are. And that was the creative process of making this tee. Then they linked up with Urban Kings Artist True Starr for the first look photoshoot of our design. It will be release on Thursday, March 17th worldwide! Make sure to stay posted once they are available! They will be sold at The Old English Brand Flagship Shop and online to be delivered on your doorstep!

The Visit – Urban Kings Movie Review

Yesterday, Urban Kings was invited for the special screening of the movie The Visit, the newest movie by M Night Shyamalan, creator of The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and Signs. We got to the screening, checked in, got our wristbands, posters, and raffle tickets, and found our seats. Going into the movie, I was a little skeptical about the movie, since the past M Night movies haven’t been so great (to me). But The Visit had really surprised me. It was not only just a scary movie, but Shyamalan added different elements to the movie, bringing a warp twisted comedy styling to pair up with the horror film. And the formula worked for me.

The story follows a brother and sister traveling to their grand parents house to spend the week with them while their mother goes on a trip. They have never seen each other due to their mother and grandparents relationship, or lack of one. The kids get picked up at the train station and they start to notice that their grandparents are not the typical grandparents. Their behavior is odd and starts to get even weirder as time passes. Until they realize what exactly is going on, then going even further into the story to find out the meaning behind the trip.

The story is shot through two cameras the kids use, seeing everything they want you do see, as they are filming a documentary about meeting their grandparents for the first time, and seeing the house and town their mother was raised in. It had the audience interaction with many “ohhhh’s” and “noooo’s” and screams thoughout the film. I thought it was among the top M Night Shyamalan movies, along with Sixth Sense and Signs, and I would give it an overall B- rating.

The Visit releases on September 11th, 2015 at theaters nationwide.
