Happy Birthday Tupac Shakur

Today was one of my favorite rappers birthdays today, the late great Tupac Shakur. He represented a life and a movement that everyone followed. Thug Life Baby! One of the last real ones who came from nothin to something and still looked out for EVERYONE in the low income communities, no matter the race. ‪Post your favorite song from Tupac at The Urban Kings Facebook Page!

RIP Eazy E – The Hip Hop Thugsta

UKMG would like to dedicate this blog for Eazy E, celebrating his life and his legacy for what he has done for music, especially hip hop. Eazy was one of the first artists that became not only an entertainer, but a CEO as well. From organizing the supergroup NWA, to working as a solo artist, then creating his own record label, called Ruthless Records. Eazy always had an eye for finding talent, including JJ Fad, The DOC, Bone Thugs and Harmony. But what Eazy E also has done, that has not really been made common knowledge that Eazy E also believed in young Mexican artists. He also signed Brownside and Kid Frost, and was also negotiating with other Mexican artists on deals. Not too many major mainstream artists have co signed Mexican artists, and that is why is so respected among the latino communities. Rest In Peace Eazy E!

Jenni Rivera – Live Memorial Service – Watch NOW

I Love Jenni Marathon Tonight @ 6/5c

Tonight, Mun2 will be airing a Marathon of Jenni Rivera’s show “I Love Jenni” in honor of her passing, which happened because of a plane crash. Mun2 will also be airing additional Season 2 episodes on Wednesday, which will be followed  by episodes from Season 1, as well as her television show “Jenni Rivera Presents: Chiquis ‘n Control” on Thursday and Friday. Mun2 also dedicated as many as 30 hours of its programming to honor the late Ms Rivera that started on Monday, and ending on Friday. Filming had begun on Season 3 of the “I Love Jenni” series, when Jenni tragically perished along with six other passengers that were also on board the small lear jet. Ms Jenni Rivera had five children and two grandchildren, and has sold over 20 million albums worldwide. She had also just signed a television deal to star in a comedy called “Jenni”. She was working on becoming a cross-over artist into the American market until her untimely death.

Urban Kings has also worked with Jenni, who was featured on a song called “Love Again” by Chino Brown and also featured MC Magic of NB Ridaz. It was directed by acclaimed photographer Estevan Oriol. The song and the album had done incredibly well, and now it is the anthem, because there will be another Jenni, and we can never love another “la diva de la banda” as much as we love her. Here is the song and the information if you want the song.

A Dope Airbrush Canvas of Wreck – RIP

We had found this picture that Maticulous done in Wrecks honor. He did a very very good job on this picture, because it looks just like Wreck, and the detail looks amazing. For those who don’t know, or perhaps haven’t heard yet, Wreck from Wicked Minds was tragically murdered a week ago in Hesperia, California. He was not only a legend in the latin hip hop genre, but he was also a friend with a big heart and was always supportive and ready to give advice from his past experiences. Hes known our staff for a while, but he has known UKMG CEO Jaime C Diaz Jr for years and years. Its surreal that Wreck is no longer here with us, and everyone is feeling the loss, from hip hop legends, to upcoming artists that listened to Wrecks music and inspired them to become artists. RIP Wreck, we will keep you in our hearts and prayers.
